#ClimateStrike — Which charities are tackling the climate emergency?

At I.G., as a registered B Corp and an organisation made up of people who would quite like the planet to remain hospitable to human life, we fully support the #ClimateStrike on the 20th September. In fact, if you are in London there is a chance you will see Team I.G. proudly taking part in the protest! Alongside all other organisations and individuals taking part, we hope this global action will galvanize leaders to take drastic action in their spheres of influence to stop the climate crisis.

After taking actions like the strike, and after putting in place all the green living measures you can in your own life and workplaces, we know things can feel a little hopeless or frustrating. We’ve previously profiled ways that philanthropists can engage with the movement led by Extinction Rebellion, and because we have such an amazing network of clients, partners and friends doing great work in this area, we wanted to share some recommendations for other slightly under the radar organisations you could take action to support.

These amazing charities are tackling climate and environmental issues from lots of different angles, making use of the law, supporting grassroots activism, and taking a gender-lens approach. We hope you find a new partner for your giving or volunteering here — let us know your other suggestions in the comments!
